Donovan Summers

After watching his brother play in the garage, Donovan knew he wanted to play the drums. After studying percussion for a few years, he got a drum set and was quickly attracted to jazz. While he had a deep appreciation for the classics, contemporary drummers like Larnell Lewis Yussef Dayes quickly began showing their influence in his playing. Centered on groove and conversation, his responsive playing tries to get people up and moving. After taking a detour in college to study audio engineering and production at the University of Saint Francis, Michael moved to Chicago to fully immerse himself in his music career.
